Saturday SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s a DARK day

It was mild(er) and the snow and ice were melting!

Do we have to go back to this? REALLY?

Seems like every other post or so is about the weather BUT we’ve had ENOUGH!!!! ( insert SCREAM) It really is time to warm up, melt, get nice and GREEN. But it’s not happenin’ this weekend. 😦

This weekend there are some fun things going on…Ideal Home Show in the city, Maple Syrup Festival in New Ross, Easter things around town…and David is wanting to look at vehicles…BUT

the snow started early this morning, and it is still snowing this evening and it’s yuck ( ok it’s beautiful on the trees but NOT this time of year) and nobody feels like doing anything FUN!

Today is Earth Hour. The day to go dark for an hour.  An annual event held every March coinciding with the equinoxes, meant to raise awareness about climate change and the environment.

Last year we participated in Earth Hour on the 29th Floor at the Hyatt restaurant in Shenyang, China with friends. They turned out the lights! This year we are home and the lights went off at 8:30pm as I am finishing up this post.

Major landmarks around the world have taken part in Earth Hour, including the Sydney Opera House, the Great Pyramids, the Empire State Building and the Las Vegas Strip. Even the so-called City of Lights has gone dark, with the Eiffel Tower shutting off its power. This year, about 40 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Acropolis in Athens and Edinburgh Castle in Scotland, plan to go dark in support of Earth Hour. It’s cool, especially if you look at the internet and see pictures of these major landmarks with their lights out. It’s events like this that bring our very large world close together.

Now if only it would STOP snowing… ( it’s a good thing for Spring blooms inside when there’s a blizzard outside)

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
