Hello Dolly!

So I have been trying really hard to clean out my cupboards from “junk food” and “sweet things” and ingredients that I have on hand to bake those scrumptious desserts.

I have been doing far too much cooking and baking those delicious things since we are back in Canada and ingredients are so easy to get, well just about anything you desire is easy to get.

I told James that this Spring I would just buy healthy stuff, I would cut down on making desserts and only do it for special. I’m getting there…pretty much everything in stock in my fridge and pantry is good stuff!

Poor Laura though… She looks through the cupboards and says there is nothing to eat. So last night I was going through the cupboards again to make a list of things I needed to pick up, I noticed a few things…sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, coconut…I remembered I promised her some squares a while ago… Hello Dolly! lol 😀

When I looked up the recipe I wanted to use, I came across this info ( thus the name of my post)

The Magic Cookie Bar – the most famous and popular Eagle Brand recipe – was invented in the 1960’s as the “Hello Dolly”. A simple layered bar that takes 8 minutes to prepare, this moist and chewy favourite has been a tempting favourite for years.

So my beautiful Laura, just for you… a treat for after work!

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
