Shrove Tuesday, or if you are French, Mardi Gras, meaning Fat Tuesday. Either way it is the Tuesday before the first day of Lent. It is the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of Lent.
But is is also PANCAKE DAY! PANCAKE Tuesday. We have ALWAYS celebrated Pancake Day since our kids were little. I still do all this fun stuff as you can see from the last few posts, and my family is all grown up.
James and David sometimes say it is just “Blog Fodder” so I have something to write about, and maybe there is truth in that BUT I KNOW they all like the special food and treats! It helps with the Winter blahs… 😛 (Even Andrew enjoyed a treat bag of cookies and mini cheese cakes.)
So in honour of Shrove Tuesday, Mardi Gras and PANCAKE DAY…Guess what we had for supper?
