The Gift Wrapping Race

Ok, so this is NOT me!!

I love Christmas. I love EVERYTHING about Christmas. eeek it’s so close!! It makes me very excited.  But if there was one thing I don’t prefer…it would be WRAPPING!!!! Ugh. So honestly, I kinda dread it. It’s funny because I like to look at all the beautiful options and combinations and themes for gift wrapping ( so beautiful) BUT I will NOT spend the money to buy and do it.

In our family, David is the perfectionist gift wrapper and each year he surprises me with beautifully wrapped gifts. ( Maybe it’s because he ONLY wraps MY few gifts) BUT part of the Christmas morning excitement for me is to see what he came up with this year. David has passed that trait on to our youngest son James who also carefully chooses wrapping paper, tags and bows and does an immaculate job each year. I am impressed with my guys!

Me…I am the one that wraps everyone’s gifts and stocking stuffers and so sometimes, it’s a lot. I get overwhelmed. And because I don’t like a lot of clutter around, I’m the one that uses all the rolls of paper left over from past years.  So the wrapping…it’s the one thing that I kind of put off to the last ( like yesterday and today) and then with the other last minute things to do… it’s a bit of a race…

So…I guess I need to put on some good upbeat Christmas music, grab something tasty to drink and get wrappin’ , REALLY I do!!!

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
