There from the start…but it’s different now…but in a good way!

If the title makes any sense at all.

Today is Anniversary Sunday at our home church! It’s different this year. It’s hard to explain…

Our Home Church in Bridgewater is celebrating 33 years ( 28 years in the current building). A milestone. David and I have been there from the start. Well David ( & his family have) David & I met in 1984 when my family started attending and we were married in 1986 in the small building on Dufferin Street before the opening of our present church building in the fall of 1986. So we have been there ever since…

Over the years…Raising our family, Involved in the ministry and programs, watching the growth, the changes, the comings and goings…a part of it all! Knowing everyone and everything! Until 4 years ago when we left. Left for foreign lands to do a period of time as expats in China & Brazil. Yes we have been back for a Sunday service here and there, not for a November Anniversary Sunday, and certainly not for long. We have seen so many changes in that short time…

BUT now we are back! Back home living and trying to find our place again. It’s different…BUT in a good way! There is so many new faces! New people, new families, LOTS of little kids, new programs. Where do we begin again? This is something I have struggled with since we arrived home. Don’t get me wrong, I am so excited that there has been wonderful growth and change BUT for the first time we have not been part of it and it feels different, strange, almost like a different church in some ways. Everyone says it takes time…I knew it would, I know it will…

BUT today it is Happy Anniversary to a church and church family that has been wonderfully blessed over the years! And I am truly thankful for the blessing this place has had in our lives and for our family!

Today we are celebrating and here are just a few pics I snapped.

I think these verses kinda say it all…

Philippians 2:1-11

So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.  Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.  Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.  And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,  and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Celebrating, Blessed and Thankful! Today was a good day!

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
