Vertigo…is it back?

I REALLY don’t understand this a whole lot. In August 2012, when we were living in Brazil,  I had been experiencing a lot of dizziness and went to the doctor, had some tests and the doctor said I had Vertigo. Hmm…I had to cut back on coffee and make sure I didn’t get dehydrated. It eventually went away But different times traveling in the mountains I would have problems.

In China, I didn’t have any issues with dizziness. I felt terrific for the most part provided I drank plenty of water and didn’t go out on smoggy high pollution days. ( or else I would get bad headaches) But no dizziness.

On Saturday I woke up dizzy! And the dizziness has lasted, and yesterday was probably the worse it’s been these few days ( maybe because I was trying to do yard work and paint) I ended up coming inside and laying down every half hour just so I could get some things finished.

Last night it was really hard to make dinner, and after I ended up laying on my bed resting all evening. I decided to research dizziness and of course Vertigo comes up when I put in my symptoms. Ahhh yes…NOW I remember! The same symptoms I was having in Brazil!

Seems that for some people Vertigo can start just upon getting up in the morning and an episode can last for minutes to days to weeks. And…once you have Vertigo, you will always have it! Hmm?!

Ok then, So… I KNOW I haven’t been drinking my water again and I KNOW I have been drinking too much coffee again ( the doctor in Brazil told me to cut back to 1 cup a day for awhile) and maybe I have been just a little stressed ( stress can play a factor the doctor said). It hasn’t been a super smooth adjustment for me settling back home. LOTS of changes, lots of things to get used to again, lots of work! Just readjustment to life with a houseful again with all varying and different schedules and ME to make sure it all runs smoothly.

So…for the next few days especially, I’m gonna have to take it easy and limit my coffee intake and drink lots of water ( and stay close to the WC lol) to see if this helps.

I can’t do much painting anyway today I think it’s gonna rain…

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
