Backyard and Back Problems

We came home from our weekend in Cape Breton on Monday and the guys were here cutting trees. We didn’t expect them until Tuesday but because of the rain expected on Tuesday they came early. Whoa!! Our backyard was FULL of branches and wood.

I mentioned before, our neighbour has been wanting trees cut down for a couple years and especially a few in our backyard. Since we were doing them, we took a couple more down that might pose a problem. HOWEVER, it looks so bare! I LOVE the mature shady trees and our backyard was a garden oasis in the hot summer. Looks like I will be doing some tree planting and landscaping in the Spring. Did you know that Pinterest is great for back yard ideas?

Andrew, our oldest son burns wood so this is great for him. FREE WOOD when it is getting hard to get and expensive. He brought his truck and borrowed a trailer.

David’s back has been bothering him all weekend, especially getting in and out of the car. He hasn’t had a back issue since Brazil when he ended up in hospital for a few days. I think all the yard work, building the deck, moving heavy boxes from our shipment, and even the 3k run with James( in Brazil they told him he couldn’t run anymore) and just not being used to doing that particular stuff has caused a flair up.

Well, my husband who likes to get in there, helped Andrew a bit with wood on Monday because he was feeling better BUT of course Tuesday morning it was worse than ever! He has that major S curve to his back and is even having a hard time walking. So…

yesterday I was in the backyard raking and cleaning up wood! Not sure if the guys will come today to finish the trees. It would be really nice to get that project complete before the weekend.

And the MOST comfortable place for David right now…

Today is October 1st. It is one of my favourite months of the year. Lots happening and if the weather is nice it is so beautiful. Enjoy your day!

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
