Golden Week…end

We are back home from spending a lovely LONG weekend (4 nights) driving some of the coasts of our beautiful province. A friend commented that we were celebrating Golden Week. It is the National Holiday in China this week ( Golden Week) and yes if we still lived there we would be traveling…everyone does! So…yes, I guess we are celebrating Golden Week.

The weather was absolutely beautiful. You just never know this time of year because it could be windy and rainy and COLD but this weekend was warmish and so beautiful. While we had hoped to view the Cabot Trail in all its splendour of colour, it was just a bit too early. The “golden” yellows are the main colour mixed through now but in a few weeks when the Highlands celebrate their Keltic Colors, those vibrant orange and reds should be out. Ahhh…so beautiful! I hope our son and his fiancé see this in 3 weeks when they go!

It was just so wonderful to spend a few days away relaxing, I MISS traveling and adventure and site seeing. I miss researching places and figuring out an itinerary for us. Well it’s back to reality…back to cleaning and renovations…I’ll just have to in my down time, grab a mug of coffee and start looking and dreaming…

Where can we travel to next? Hmmm….

Have a great last couple days of September!

A few colour pics…and even enjoying Canadian Chinese version of Gong Bao Ji Ding because it’s Golden week!

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
