The Landscape is changing…

Brr! Fall arrived OVERNIGHT, especially after the balmy tropical rains of Sunday and Monday. I am so glad I have my warm clothes now. Happy 1st Day of Fall!

Well, I don’t know whether to smile or cry. I love our backyard. I love the mature trees and flower and shrub garden and it’s just so peaceful and relaxing listening to the birds.

HOWEVER, all that’s changing…a bit! Some of the trees are going. It’s bittersweet. The Fall season plus mature trees, especially oak trees, means lots and lots of raking and tons of bagged leaves to haul to the curb so I won’t miss that. I will miss the shade and the privacy.

Our neighbour has been wanting some trees down for awhile and yes some of our trees are getting really big and close to the house so they need a trim or to come down too.  Today was tree cutting day! Today and tomorrow and maybe in to Thursday the backyards will be a buzz with power saws and the sound of trees falling…

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
