1964… it was a GOODE YEAR! Hey…that’s 50 years ago!

And today my husband is 50!!!!!!

We’ve had lots of fun over the past few days celebrating David’s 50th Birthday!

Because schedules are a little busy in our home right now we decided to forego the “BIG 50” party. We did something a little different. Special days for the special boy who’s turning 50!  Since we’ve been away from our kids the last few years, this was a great chance to celebrate their Dad and have some QUALITY time!

They each planned a special activity for him… to share with him.

Andrew & David~ An afternoon at the drag races

Laura & David~ Go karting & FOOD!

James & David~ A run and a swim

Jon surprised David with his favourite frozen treat!

I had my turn too~ A nice quiet dinner with my 50 year old 🙂 It has been so busy that we just wanted a night to talk and have some great food. Chicken and ribs it at our favourite place.

And then cake when we came home… Black Forest, David’s favourite, of course!

IMG_3774 IMG_3775 One evening this week when the kids weren’t working ( which is rare) we enjoyed a nice dinner in Lunenburg. (Missed Andrew & Kristina)

We even got him a fridge and stocked it with his favourite beverage.

and…I made sure David had a few sweets to take in to work to share with some colleagues on his special day.

Happy 50th Birthday my AMAZING husband! I hope you enjoyed the special treats the last few days and I hope you have an AMAZING year…

and get lots of opportunity to enjoy your birthday present more in this coming year.

LOVE you to the other side of the world and back xo

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
