It’s Our Custom

The day FINALLY came! We were off to the city this morning to Customs & Immigration to get our shipment clear. It’s so exciting because it means it will be delivered to us this week!

It has been custom in the past for a contact person from the moving company to accompany us to Customs and Immigration but I guess procedure has changed. We were responsible to do this on our own and when the necessary paperwork was stamped, and a copy given to the moving company then, they can schedule delivery. So down to the Halifax waterfront to Hollis Street…

It was a very easy process and took all of 5 minutes and probably the smoothest transaction through Customs ever. With the certified stamp on our documents, we faxed them to the moving company and they scheduled the delivery of our shipment. Yay!!! I’m so excited.

And then it was off to Mic Mac Mall for a little shopping and some lunch at John’s Lunch Diner.

Such a great start to a new week!

PS~ Thinking about our niece Melanie who is flying to China today to Xiamen to teach English. Love & Hugs go with you Mel,  I wish I was too 😛

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
