SOME DAYS…You just NEED to eat dessert FIRST!

Haha, It’s the last long weekend of August and of Summer and if last night was any indication we are jumping very quickly from Summer to Fall! The radio forecast was calling for a low of 10 degrees and 5 in low lying areas with a chance of…FROST!!!! yikes. This is NOT how many people want to spend their last long weekend getaway.

Well, we didn’t go away but we did go off to the city for dinner. I especially, am missing the big city and not that Halifax is big, but it’s as good as we’ve got.  So Friday night, the end of the work week we went to one of our favourite places, the Halifax Waterfront.

And…had dessert FIRST! Because I have been wanting this tasty treat for a few months now and I wasn’t about to spoil it with dinner. BEAVERTAILS! And a maple beavertail at that!

IMG_3372 IMG_3364YUM!! It was so delicious. I think next time I will ask to have it without the chocolate so I can just enjoy the maple flavour.

We had fun looking around the waterfront and then went to Salty’s at Historic Properties for some Fish & Chips.

A perfect start to our weekend!

And Today, well we slept in as the temperature warmed up a bit and today is house washing day! I better get at it, David needs my help!

PS~ And we got it ALL done!!!

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
