Many Goodbyes

Well, we are 2 weeks from leaving and here begins the dinners and many goodbyes and for me especially, MANY tears!! It’s hard…GOODBYES are NEVER easy!

Tonight we had dinner with family. Some of our China family. Our old driver Wan, his wife and daughter will ALWAYS be family and will be in our hearts forever! We developed a relationship/friendship with them that went beyond him just being our driver the first time we were in China. And even though our current driver Wang is great, he is NOT Wan!!! We have missed this family this year back in China. We have seen them a few times but we are busy, they are busy, Wan has a new employer he drives for and so the few times we see them, we count VERY special.

They are priority for us to see before we leave and so tonight we enjoyed a ferris wheel ride, lovely walk in the park and dinner at one of our favourite restaurants! Even Didi ( our Apple guy) came to say goodbye tonight. It was fun to recall some of our special and interesting moments with Wan. He is so wonderful and always makes us laugh. He assures us that we will see each other again, maybe China or maybe Edmonton,Canada when Wan Jia Xiu plans to study in 3 years.

We will miss you BUT you are forever in our hearts, Wan Zhi, Gu Shao Bing and Wan Jia Xiu ❤

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
