There’s so much to do!!!

And NOT enough time!! There are so many places and things to do here in Shenyang and our area. How to choose what we will do. We have been trying to give them a good mix of adventure, shock factor, and Chinese culture and history.

Today we went to the Tiger Park and..

there was a baby, actually a couple!!!

The Chinese culture experience for today was dinner in our Chinese friends home. Li Dan Yao and Wei Quan graciously invited the boys for dinner. Jon and James call Wei Quan “wanton” jokingly, but they have been so sweet to make sure the boys see and experience all things in Shenyang. There was another family invited as well. The young Finance student, Hua Yuan Tong, whose final paper I proofread and corrected, and her family, friends of Li Dan Yao’s were there. The boys enjoyed chatting with “Jenny” the English name they gave her.  Li Dan Yao served Pu’er tea and gave the boys lessons in Jiaozi making and as usual the food was amazing!!! I didn’t take as many pictures this time. I hate to always pull my camera out when we are together. After dinner Jon gave them a performance on his new piano and James, David & I sang ” My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion. A song that most Chinese people recognize. It was a great evening and such a wonderful opportunity for James and Jon to eat authentic Chinese in a Chinese home.

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
