What to do on Wednesday?

What does Park, Peony, Portrait, Screaming and Silkworms have in common?

Haha…that was our WEDNESDAY!!!

This morning the boys and I went for a quick 4k in the park so I could show them (James) the wonderful changes that have been made to the park since he was last here.

After lunch we went to the Botanical Gardens. The weather was so beautiful today and so we made sure to go up the Lily Tower to see the amazing view! June ( ok it’s close) is Peony month and all the tulips are gone, new flowers are being planted and now the peonies are blooming!

Something the boys thought would be really cool to do was get their portraits drawn by Chinese artists in the park. What do you think? See the resemblance?

I think Jonathan’s looks more like him. James’ artist didn’t want to put his scar or much facial hair. We had to convince him…

Haha, how about here? Cute little China buddies.

And then it was on to the Amusement Section for some fun. The Haunted House and the Chinese Roller Coaster. The boys were screaming like a bunch of girls…

We had so much fun!! The sun was out, the sky was blue and we got burned. We freshened up a bit before it was time to pick up David from work and then out for dinner. Silk worms on the menu of interesting things to try tonight. James said we had to make sure Jonathan tried silk worms. What do you think Jon? You know, you can always substitute June bugs in this dish when you’re home!

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
