The Dirt Market

Lu Yuan Market in Shenyang we know as the  “Dirt Market”

Dirt you say? They sell dirt?

Actually no but there is anything and everything there all lined up on the dirt ( or what used to be dirt) This is THE PLACE to go for treasures, antiques, something unique… it is Antique City!

We decided to spend a couple hours this morning exploring Lu Yuan and were pleasantly surprised that there is actually an Antique Exhibition going on all weekend that is more like the old ” dirt market” with everything lined up along the street, in the park across from Lu Yuan and it just goes on and on…There was even an auction on some silk paintings. Ahhh I love these things BUT I only have so many walls and space.

It was so much fun!!! Lots of people, lots of treasures…David and I love places like this and we’ll go back…maybe next weekend when the boys are here. Besides, we still didn’t find that particular treasure we’re looking for!

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
