A Lovely Afternoon

We had plans today. I went to school this morning, we needed to check some prices on something and then we were going to have lunch with some fellow foreigners at one of our favourite restaurants. Then we got a call…

Our Chinese friends had a wedding to attend early this morning and then they were free. “Do you want to do something?” they asked. Sure!! We’d love to. Remember I am taking EVERY opportunity. I was dressed for school( & overdressed for just spending the day walking…heels ugh) but then they were all dressed for a wedding. Yes! Let’s do something!

We got our driver to tell them exactly where we were and we met up and went in their car and let our driver go for the day. They did a few errands with us, checking prices. Did you know there is a difference in price for a foreigner than a Chinese person with many things? So… it is sometimes good to take a Chinese friend. We wanted their opinion on a few items we would like to purchase before we leave China. I didn’t take pictures, actually I would have liked to take video with the whole negotiating process, it’s hilarious to watch.

After we finished, we went for a lovely walk in Nanhu Park. The Ferris wheel here on a clear day is one of my favourite things and so we treated them to a ride on the Ferris wheel. We finished our day with a relaxing dinner at one of our favourite Chinese restaurants close by.  I LOVE these day making memories!

BUT, ohhh my feet are so sore from wearing heels since 8:30 this morning! UGH!!!!

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
