This is just the craziest thing!

One week from today is FLY day for us, we will go home for a 3 week home trip. We have been sooooo looking forward to a few week of Spring in Nova

Today east coast Canada is expecting the craziest SNOW STORM of the season. Wednesday seems to be the day this year for snow storms and this crazy big one is expected again on…WEDNESDAY!

Here’s an update that I read from Dahl Dispatch a site I use to keep up to date on things along the South Shore…

STORM ANALYSIS: There has been so much hype about tomorrows storm. It’s been called a “Weather Bomb”, “Nor’Easter”, “Juan to be”, and the Strongest Storm of the Year. It’s been compared to The Perfect Storm and White Juan. Key differences here, is there were waves of 30 metres with The Perfect Storm. Waves of 10 metres is only expected with this storm. With White Juan, it moved slower, which is why up to 100 cm of snow fell.
However with this storm, some meterologists have downplayed the storm, while others have stressed that this is going to be a major storm. What most are agreeing on, is that we will see at least 40-50 cm. Keep in mind, White Juans initial forecast was 25-50 cm…and we got double that…
With this storm it is moving faster, However 60-70 cm is still not out of the question. If this was moving slower, 110-120 cm would be possible. Just imagine that!
As far as Winds go, gusts from 100-140 km/h are not out of the question. Storm Surge is expected along the Atlantic Coast. There may be a changeover to Rain along the Atlantic Coast but not many meterologists are supporting that at this time, and if it did happen, it would only be brief.
Thunderstorms with snow(Thundersnow) are also expected tomorrow along the Atlantic Coast.
The bottom line is BE PREPARED for whatever comes our way tomorrow.
It’s Nova Scotia and anything could happen! Lots of businesses have already announced their closing tomorrow and lots of things have been cancelled. Power Outages are likely. Stay tuned to Dahl Dispatch for all the latest updates. Everything is being charged up fully incase of loss of power. Stay safe!

If it was April 1st I would say this is a huge April Fools’s joke. But NO Joke that is a lot of SNOW!!! PLEASE it can stop anytime!!!! I’m coming home for “nice” weather…

Here in Shenyang the days have been so nice, averaging 20 degrees. Well I say nice. Pollution is ALWAYS a factor and the more nice days we get the more the pollution index grows ( it’s Spring and so lots of spring burning and clean up these days) This morning it was foggy, I mean polluted 😦 As much as I love it here I really do believe the pollution takes it’s toll on my health. I am so thankful to go home every 4 months or so just to feel really good again. It’s just too bad that the air is so unhealthy because China is truly a beautiful and interesting country to live in.

And so it HAS begun…

Well let’s just say I will be watching the East coast Canadian news tonight…stay safe friends!

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
