In search of a dress

Another smogy, high pollution day in Shenyang. It has gradually gotten worse since I woke up this morning and I hope it RAINS! RAINS heavy so it washes all the bad weather away… At first when we returned to China in July I thought the air quality was better. It was summer which can be bad too, but the first month we were here there were blue skies almost every day. BUT Fall is always when I would walk in the park and I can count on one hand the amount of times I have been out! It drives me CrAzY because I NEED to walk! Today David works at night and we would walk, we could walk… All this to say TODAY, we are staying inside!

So What to blog about? What can I tell you?

Last week David had a couple days off and since it is November and Christmas is just around the corner…

We went in search of a dress! I want a Chinese style dress for Christmas this year. I want a certain kind, I had pictures and so off we went to a particular dress shop where two sweet ladies were very happy to help. I saw a couple similar to what I wanted but nothing exactly so I had to change it up a bit. And because these shops carry just one dress ( it may be your size, may not), it needs to be made!

So…it’s behind the curtain, strip off to the undies, and get measured! I am used to this whole procedure now. There was a time that I wasn’t. David took a few pictures…

And since I was doing this, I figured instead of one I might as well get two done at the same time. Measurements taken, phone number and name information was recorded, $$$ paid, and they said the dresses would be ready next week! I’m so excited I hope they are every bit as beautiful as the model versions.

Hmm…what to do today since we are cooped up inside? Maybe look at the calendar and plan a winter vacay for 2014…we can at least check out some options.

Zaijian 🙂

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
