It’s Fresher in the country

The air is not the only thing that is fresher in the country. That’s true no matter where in the world you are.

Tuesday when we went to the country, to the mountains to Benxi the sky went from SMOG to clear blue beautiful skies! The other thing that we got was some fresh dried fruit and nuts! It’s that time of year and even though they are available in all the markets, these things just taste so much better if you get them from the country!

We love the little dried cherry tomatoes, our favorite and they taste like candy. We also picked up some almonds ( salted still in the shell) and some fresh dates. The kind of dates that we have at home, not the red Chinese jujube dates.

I was so excited with our purchase because I came home and made one of David’s favorites…date squares. Yummy!

It’s another Friday already, here’s to a great weekend!

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
