Meet Our NEW DRIVER

I’d like to introduce you to our driver, Wang

WANG
WANG

Wang is  30 years old, has been married 2 years to a sweet little Chinese gal ( he showed us pictures) and does not speak English. I think he’s a little nervous but already we are making progress and he is warming up to us and ready to do whatever! He is very protective and watches out for our safety. And is eagerly carrying our bags when we purchase items. He’s a bit of a techy with an iphone and Ist generation ipad and so it makes communicating with translators very convenient. He’s young so it is different. We went to Botanical Garden last week and found out it was Wangs 1st time there, his wife has never been so next time we’ll see if she would like to go to. I think it will be fun to get to know and encourage this young couple. On Saturday when we got in the car, he eagerly presented us with a gift. A framed picture of David & I that he had taken at the restaurant on our city tour, so…thoughtful!

In case your wondering and didn’t know from our time here before, In China, we are not allowed to drive and so the company provides expats with their very own car & driver. We had hoped to have our driver from last time, Mr Wan. He hoped to be able to drive for us when we returned, however, due to logistics it wasn’t possible and we will miss him as our driver. Thankfully, we have established a wonderful friendship so we will see him on occasion!

It was nice to see our previous driver, Mr Wan! We will miss him as our driver

We will not call our new driver Mr. Wang. He is a new, younger, inexperienced driver and it wouldn’t be the proper thing to address him as Mr. so…it’s just Wang.

So, we have been doing a lot of sight seeing and diving this last week, getting to know our new driver!

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
