A Shenyang Saturday

I love Saturdays. Living in Shenyang city it will be our day to sleep in…just a bit. Although today I was up again at 5am. And then it will be shopping day. A day to do some errands and groceries at some of the more interesting markets, not just our local grocery market. Today we decided to check out Wuai Market. On a Saturday it can be a madhouse with people but oh so interesting! Block after block, stall after stall, building after building. Every kind of good you can imagine. Whole buildings of shoes, clothes, office equipment and more.

David bought a pair of pants and I, well…I came home with 2 pets! Something that I can talk to in my apartment when David is working.

This afternoon was HOT! We spent a little bit of time in the park along the river. This is the place to be on super hot days because usually there is a nice gentle breeze and it is a little bit cooler.

Just had to take the opportunity to have my pic taken with these Chinese men. So sweet...gave them something to talk about! Chinese LOVE Canadians and Canada :)

Tonight we went for a stroll along the walking street, I had an appetizer squid on a stick, dinner at a Chinese restaurant and then went to Zhongshan square to see some of the evenings activities. Kite flying, whipping, singing, dancing, painting, rollerblading and practicing English with the foreigners.

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
