Temporary Accomodations

These days we are having LOTS of fun dealing with jet leg, up at 4 and 5 am ( that’s gonna last a bit) and figuring things out once again in Shenyang. The next few days are busy! Meetings and tours as well as looking for a suitable apartment. For a while we will be staying at the Somerset in Heping district of the city. It is actually just around the corner from the Crowne where we stayed for a month last time. It’s a newer Residence Hotel and this temporary place is so much nicer than our permanent place in Brazil. Oh…it’s so good to be back!

Here are a few pictures of our temporary place at Somerset…

The Somerset Hotel is a Residence Hotel, some expats stay here full time. It offers a beautiful morning breakfast, has a SPA,a terrace, a lounge with an evening happy hour, a reading room, games room and even a kids club called CUBBIES! It’s a wonderful place and I could even stay here for the next year or so but I would really miss not being by the water and the wide open green spaces. Besides, after a year of having someone make breakfast and maid service…I would be too spoiled!!

We are still deciding and negotiating for our permanent place. Thank you all so much for your comments and input. I will let you know our choice very soon!

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
