~Easter Weekend in Brazil~

As you know we live in the small city of Resende. I guess approx 112, 000 isn’t small, but it feels small. It feels smaller than my hometown of Bridgewater or maybe it’s just that I really LOVED the big city of Shenyang with 8 million people. Well anyway, on most weekends we try to escape…get away and do something because there is NOTHING in Resende and everything closes after lunch on Saturday. Easter weekend is no exception. EVERYONE travels on Easter. It is one of the biggest weekends to travel beside the New Year & Carnaval. And most people either head to the beach or one of the popular towns/cities that have Holy week celebrations.

So this weekend we are enjoying Easter Weekend in São Paulo, Brazil. São Paulo is the largest city of the Southern Hemisphere. 20,186,000 is a lot of people! But it’s great. And besides this weekend, people from the city go to the country or the beach…so we’ve been told.

We are staying at the Transamerica Executive hotel and will do a little site seeing, a little market shopping, and even a soccer game but mostly we’re relaxing and enjoying the Easter Weekend.

Don’t worry I’ll do a few posts of our highlights next week. Hope you’re all enjoying your long weekend!

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
