We are HOME in Brazil…back from a lovely week cruising the Caribbean on the Norwegian Pearl with friends. It was a fabulous, relaxing getaway! In case you have never done a cruise as a vacation, I HIGHLY recommend it for so many reasons
This year the ports of call were… Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas ( Norwegian’s private island), Ocho Rios, Jamaica- George Town, Grand Cayman- and Cozumel, Mexico. So much fun! ( I will do a separate post on each port)
This cruise we flew in from Brazil. We flew to Panama and then to Miami the day before and stayed overnight at the Miami waterfront so it was easy access to board the Pearl early the next day. It was just a little bit chilly though…especially after being in Brazil.
The Pearl is a jewel class cruise ship and it was voted #1 in the NCL fleet for 2012. The ship itself is colorful and beautifully decorated. It is very clean and the staff is superb. They go out of their way to make your vacation the BEST. Then there’s the food…so delicious and so abundant!
As always when we board the Pearl and get unpacked, our first stop is Deck 12, The Great Outdoors . It is our favorite place on the whole ship. It is our place to have breakfast, afternoon coffee, evening dessert AND… We always try to make sure we are here for the sail away from Miami.
Like I said before the Norwegian Pearl is very colorful and clean. Here are just a few pics around the ship. There are so many more interesting places and even places we didn’t explore.
Evenings on the ship are a lot of fun. We love to dress up and try different restaurants and dinning areas. The food is so good. After dinner we take in the late show at the Stardust Theatre. Sorry no pics of the entertainment…cameras not permitted.
Every night we when we went back to our stateroom there were towel animals to greet us and one evening some treats! Our steward, Joybelle from the Phillippines was a sweetie!
A highlight along the end of the week is the Chocolate Buffet. It’s held from 10-11pm and so many goodies. My favorite is the chocolate covered strawberries that they didn’t have this year but lots of other chocolatey treats!
The last evening on the ship, there is a mixture of entertainment from the week as well as a farewell wave by the captain and some of the officers of the ship. What a great crew!
7 days…4 ports of call, 2 days at sea, delicious food, good entertainment, fun with friends, relaxing in the sun…what more could you want in a vacation!
Check out highlights from the ports of call coming this week! But for now it’s bed time…I still don’t have my land legs and my head still feels like I am rocking on the ship. Nite all!
