Bikini Factory and Pool Time!

Visitors come to Brazil for sunny hot weather and want to go home to the cold Canadian winter with a nice tan. Laura is really wanting some quality relax time around the pool and at the beach so…

It was off to the Bikini Factory to get a Brazilian bikini. Well not quite a Brazilian bikini but a nice bright colorful one that was made in Brazil. There are beautiful colors and designs but they are designed with the Brazilian lady in mind and most of the already made bikinis, the foreigners feel just a little bit exposed in. That is why the girls and I get our bikinis and swimsuits specially designed and made. Unfortunately Laura is not here long enough to do that so we browsed the racks. She found one she really liked and it was actually pretty good. The shop also has beautiful beach sarongs and in the choices there was one with limes on it. Miss “Lola-lime” (her nickname) just had to have it!

Today Laura got chance to meet some of the expat ladies. We had lunch at one of our favorite “por kilo restaurants” … the restaurant that is buffet style where you help yourself and your plate is weighed and you pay according to weight. This is one of my favorite ways of eating in Brazil.

It was really hot and sunny today as we were out and about and so when we got back to the apartment it was time for some swimming and a bit of tanning. Laura got some sun when we were walking today so we didn’t stay too long poolside but just enough to have some fun and cool off! It didn’t shower this afternoon so David was able to join us when he came home from work.

When we were downtown today we stumbled across a new cafe, just opened, that serves sandwiches, juices, coffee and cakes. It has  free wifi and looks like a fun spot. We will definitely have to do lunch there some day but it was the lime pie caught my eye when we were there. There is a certain type of lime pie that is my favorite in Brazil and not every place carries it but this new cafe does. Tonight David, Laura & I went and picked up a slice of our choosing to enjoy tonight! YUM!!!

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
