The Girls Are Back in Town………….

Yes! The girls are back in town! Everyone has returned from their home trips and we are all FINALLY back together in Resende. Well all of us that is except Marlene. Marlene is the one expat wife that has the best of both worlds. She has an apartment in Rio and one in Resende because her husband’s assignment is between both plants. Marlene has company visiting and so she will be in Rio of course ( everyone LOVES Rio) until February. And Margherita is not here…Margherita left just yesterday for her home trip to Italy for 3 weeks.  But EVERYONE else is back and NOW to catch up! What has everyone been up to?

Today was yet another rainy drizzly day…I don’t think I should have posted about summer weather because for the last number of days it has been rainy all day instead of the afternoon. Grr…I hope it gets better! Laura is coming and we need pool time and beach weather. Gee…the pool didn’t even open today…Anyway, instead of being cooped up, the girls met this morning at Ponto Cafe. We walked to the bikini factory to see if there was new fabric in and a couple of us ordered a few things to be made. One can never have too many swim suits, right? Then it was back to Ponto Cafe for lunch and to catch up on everyone’s news.

Sometimes when the girls go on an outing there can be quite a few of us. We have often joked that we will get matching hats or scarves to keep each other in sight and so we don’t get lost. Well on our Christmas trip to Canada, Mom was knitting these beautiful scarves and I thought it would be fun to bring each of the girls one back to Brazil! Beautiful colors…

Well not that we need scarves now but Winter is coming in a few months…

It was a fun day and the great thing is that we can do it all over again tomorrow!

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
