‘Twas the week before Christmas
‘Twas the week before Christmas, and all through the land, it was easy to tell that Christmas again was at hand.
With the Bell Ringers ringing their bells for your change, give them enough to make you feel better, give them too much it may make you feel strange.
‘Tis the season for giving to family and friends, hurry, you’ll miss it, because it soon ends. No time for the others, they’ll be alright, Santa will help them get through the cold night.
Stop at the food shelf, give some cans you don’t need, maybe a family somewhere you will feed. We can barely afford to buy our kids a new car, let alone help the poor. Hope that that the Government will take care of them too, after all it’s their job, its what they should do. .
They’d better protect us from terrorists and such, after all we pay taxes and they take so much. We give other countries cash by the ton, so there better not be any interruption of fun.
We have many who are homeless and poverty stricken, so on Christmas day let’s cook them some chicken. We’ve seen all the movies, Christmas always prevails and evil is banished to where there only are wails.
This is America, land of the free, home of the brave. We’re politically correct, no more souls left to save. The birthday of Christ we better rename so we don’t offend those not believing the same.
‘Twas the day after Christmas, and we made it through. Now back to the real world, where you are what you do. Don’t worry about others, don’t say the word God. We gave him a day, what more could he ask, we’re off on vacation, in the sun we will bask.
Leave things as they are and don’t rock the boat or tomorrow may find you no longer afloat. We all have our own lives to worry about, no time to think about the ones without clout.
There’s the haves and have nots, that’s the way it will be. It’s not a real problem ’til the have nots include me. So, don’t bug me again ‘til this time next year, when bell ringers ring and the world’s full of cheer.
Hmm? It’s writing like this that ALWAYS makes me think! I LOVE Christmas! For some it is a difficult time of year. We see many homeless and those in need, those who have lost so much, and are hurting as we travel the world and it is heart breaking…what to do ? And…what is REALLY important? Sometimes we get so caught up in our special little traditions and things that we feel are so important that the “true” reason to celebrate Christmas is often forgotten. I often need the simple reminder of this special holiday!
I hope you are celebrating the true meaning of Christmas! And take the time to share that good news and make a difference in someone’s life!
One Week til Christmas!! 2 days til FLY DAY!! Did I mention I have my suitcases all packed and am READY? No last minute scrambling this time 🙂
