Sunday BBQ

Last evening we had a CrAzY summer thunder and lightning storm! After it was over there was a beautiful rainbow. We have lots of storms in the summer here but rarely a rainbow to go with it .

This morning I woke up to beautiful HOT sunshine ( 40 degrees in the sun) and a futebol game going on at our condo court. Early morning futebol games are not uncommon but this had a twist… it was all Asian guys, probably Japanese, since Brazil has a large Japanese population. ( You would think I would know the difference living in China for over a year but from my balcony it was hard to tell) I didn’t even listen closely to see what language they were speaking…

I sat out on my balcony enjoying my coffee ( my happy place) and catching a few early morning rays. David went for a quick swim. It would have been a great Sunday just to lounge by the pool but we had plans…

Today was a lovely day for a BBQ. Hector & Marcella hosted a BBQ at their compound for the Michelin MB2 start up team. Hector is one of the Project leaders so he invited the start up team to celebrate their successes in the past few months. Brazilians, Mexicans, Canadians and Americans working together and with great success! So…There is nothing like a Brazilian BBQ to celebrate! There is ALWAYS lots of food and it’s delicious, not to mention FUN with great people! Another chance to see people we know ( even though some were MIA today) and also people that David works with that I really don’t know but I hear about often.

Anyone care for Mexican hot sauce with their fries?!

What a great bunch of guys!

And the best thing to cook on an outdoor grill…

I think Sophia liked the cake more…

Some of the team are going HOME for Christmas so it was nice to get together before the Holidays because we probably won’t get chance until everyone is back in January!  Just a great afternoon!

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
