OUR KIDS…For One A New House, For Another A New Car, and Another A New Country!

This is an exciting Fall! It’s good to be home with our kids and see what they are up to and how they are growing as young adults. Each of them have new and exciting things happening…

For Andrew our oldest, it’s a new house! He and Kristina bought an older home and have been redoing it all summer. They hoped to be in it by now, but we all know how it goes when you’re renovating. They are having fun and learning lots. David was able to spend some quality time helping Andrew a bit yesterday with some odd jobs…mouldings and counter top installation. He hopes to be able to help some more on the weekend. When we are home at Christmas, everything should be all done. They are pretty excited!

Laura, our daughter surprised us and bought her own car! We didn’t even know about her plans until 2 days before she picked it up. A little black 2012 Kia Soul. It’s a cute car and really suits her personality. She even had it personalized with her nickname “Lola Lime” Laura has been enjoying her independence, and was happy to be the designated driver to pick us up at the airport this time.  I have been enjoying quality time with her while we are home, hanging out shopping and cooking and just spending time together. My little girl is growing up and I really miss her!

And James our youngest, the traveler and photographer has a new country to explore and enjoy this year. He will fly to Japan tonight to do 8 months of his fourth year Bachelor of Theology program. He is very excited, and we are for him! I can’t wait to see Japan through his eyes.

It has just been so wonderful to see the kids and share all the exciting things that are happening. I really treasure our times together. Why does it have to go so fast?

Adventure For Two

I am from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada and I'm back from traveling with my husband on an expat assignment to foreign lands. 2011-2012 we were in Shenyang, China. Spring 2012- Spring 2013 we were in Resende,RJ Brazil then back to Shenyang, China in July 2013 until the end of July 2014. Expat life WAS amazing! Adventure abounds no matter where we travel to. We really enjoyed the amazing opportunity to live and experience culture and tradition in these places. BUT now we are finished and adjusting to life in our small town in Canada. Our days of travel and adventure are not over.
