TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: São Paulo, one of the World’s Largest Cities!
This morning we left bright and early for São Paulo. It is about a 3-4 hour drive right into the heart of the city from Resende, depending on traffic. James flies out of São Paulo airport for home tomorrow night so we thought we would drive up a day early and have a bit of time to explore. We have never been to São Paulo before so this gives us opportunity for a quick visit!
There are approximately 22 million + people that live right in São Paulo making it the largest city in Brazil, the largest city in the Southern hemisphere and the 6th largest city in the world. It has strong regional influence in commerce and finance as well as arts and entertainment.
According to Wikipedia…
The metropolis has significant cultural, economic and political influence both nationally and internationally. São Paulo is really an amazing city and in our limited time today we had fun checking it out…enjoying the view from the roof top of our hotel, walking down Paulista Avenue, going to the São Paulo Museum of Art and out for São Paulo Portuguese style Rodizio pizza. It was a GREAT day!

The view at night is amazing. I just love big cities!
You can’t come to São Paulo without having pizza. Paulistas love their pizza! We tried a few kinds and finished off with chocolate and banana/cinnamon dessert pizza.
So…it’s off to bed. I want to get a good night sleep so I can enjoy James’ last day in Brazil.
